CWA Boundary Placefile Customizations

Another request and a comment....

It would be helpful (maybe in the forthcoming Customizations) to be able to see the 3 letter identifier or the Full Name (selectable in the Customization which you see) of the Forecast Office just like it does for the Radar Sites...even to have it popup when touching the boundary lines if having both the Doppler ID and the NWS ID makes for confusion)

And the Comment: for Counties along the oceans...the NWS CWA includes areas off shore....this is especially true for OKX (NWS New York) where none of the Atlantic Ocean or the Long Island Sound show as inside OKX's CWA...(tracing the land mass borders adds a lot of 'graphic noise' to the image)

We will not be modifying the placefile to include any offshore zones. You can see the official NWS data that was used at http://www.nws.noaa.gov/geodata/catalog/wsom/html/cwa.htm. Note that nothing offshore is included. The time investment to add offshore zones would simply be too great.

The 3-letter WFO code is actually displayed in the middle of each zone. The problem is that I chose black text as the default and your background is black, so you just can't see it. As you suggested, once we add customization support for this placefile you will be able to change the text color. I will take your suggestion with regard to the hover text when placing your mouse over the boundary. Expect this to be completed sometime today.
