Adding Chicago's Metar to all Zoom Levels

Was wondering why Chicago's OBS disappears after a certain zoom level. Would think a big city like that would show the values with max zoom out like NYC.(which has multiple stations around it as well)

At 848 meters Chicago's temp still there. Very next zoom level out it disappears at 1018 meters.

Then at 2112 meters there's a big empty space in Northeast Illinois.

Can you have Chicago's site (ORD or MDW) or a couple of them in the area show up just to fill that void there?

  The reasoning appears to be explained by Mike in your Feature Request at http://www.grlevelx.com/owners/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=9038&sid=bc95c648aee210f92507c5ff3a22fd68&p=70525#p70525. We didn't handpick what sites show up at particular zoom levels; this is a ranking factor determined by the FAA and is largely automated.

  We will evaluate how to best move the station ranks up/down to accommodate this change.

  KORD has been moved to Rank 0 due to its International status. This should resolve the issue you mention.

  Hi Ryan, just getting this now for some reason never got the email about a reply to this thread. Sorry. That sounds great!! Thanks for making it happen. I don't see it yet though on my GREarth. I do have the latest 2.30 version too. Chicago still disappears at 1013 meters.

  On a related note, if there are others I would like to request moved up in rankings, can I do so here? (I'll limit it to just 3?)

  Restart your program and you should see it.

  We aren't going to make a habit out of modifying the METAR ICAO table as it has other implications. I would suggest posting these requests to the Owners Forum so that consensus can be established among other GRe Owners and Mike. We follow that forum pretty regularly and would be happy to make changes for the greater good so long as everyone agrees. Unilaterally modifying this table without input is not in anyones' best interest, so I feel that this may be the best approach to appease everyone.

  I noticed Chicago's metar still doesn't show up. I restarted the program and currently have Version 2.30.

  Attached is an image showing my version of GREarth and the empty space at 2102 Zoom level. I thought Chicago was added back in February. I believe I did see it a few times but its been missing since last month at least.

  It's related to merging International METAR databases. Those ranks have been restored, fixing gaps in the Illinois area as well as Colorado, Oklahoma, Missouri, Georgia and North Carolina.
