Ryan Hickman Official comment I'll have to think about how to approach this. Thanks for the feedback.

Timothy Willson Yes...this a good idea to be able to choose the number of frames especially when on low bandwidth connections.

Micheal Lavender I agree that this is an important modification to consider. I have 200+Mbps connectivity, but loading the full 24-hours of GOES16 (CONUS true color visible) or reflectivity (hybrid scan) takes a long time (timed it twice at 20 minutes plus to load the full cycle). Maybe there are other explanations for that (browser, processor, etc.?), but I have not had issues with other software fueled by AllisionHouse data (i.e. GREarth). I actually am not able to use Maps effectively until the loop can be shortened (or we figure out another reason the data is loading so slowly for me).

Ryan Hickman What if when you hit play, that's defined as the "start point" and the "end point" is the end of the timeline. When the slider hits the "end point," it could wrap back to the "start point," or where the slider was when play was hit.
Would this be an acceptable solution while we figure out how to implement something more elegant?

Micheal Lavender Yes, I think that would be a good interim solution.

Ryan Hickman I'll implement this in Maps 2.1, which I plan to roll out this week. Video recording will also be included, which blows away Animated GIF recording in terms of performance, speed and usability on social media platforms.
Michael, I will get you a trial of the new features once released.
